Tutorial To SD Card Partition On Android

This tutorial is how to make partition on your SD Card’s Android. We know, all of mobile phones especially android phones have the limited internal storage. If you will install many apllications on your android phones, your internal storage maybe will decrease and affected the phone performace. So, you need to install your applications on your external storage/SD Card. The purpose of SD Card Partition also can be do to install SWAP memory. I will be post soon about SWAP, so just wait my next post. Here is Tutorial To SD Card Partition On Android :

Requerements & Tools :

1. Your Android must be rooted
2. Partition Software installed on your PC (i use Mini Partition Wizard)
3. Card reader & USB Cable
4. Link2sd (Android App), to move/linked applications from internal storage to external storage/SD Card.

Step by step Tutorial To SD Card Partition On Android :

1. Install Mini Partition Wizard to your PC, then plug USB Card Reader contains your SD Card. Now, open Windows File Manager, then format yor SD Card. (attention : thsi step will make all of your data on SD Card deleted, so please make backup first).

2. Now klick Delete on Mini Partition Wizard, see the screenshot !

3. Create Fat or Fat32 Partition > Select Create as “Primary”. This 1st Partition wil be placed for your file data (music, images, etc). Select “File System:” FAT when you have 2GB or smaller card. Select “File System:” FAT32 when you have 4GB or greater card.

4. Create ext2 or ext3 or Swap, Select “File System:” ext2 – for App2SD Link2SD.  Select “File System:” swap to make swap.

5. Now, click “apply” button on left corner on Mini Partition Wizard. Partition will be created, and your SD Card will be formatted.

You have finished make partition on your SD Card, the next step is installing Link2SD app to your android. First, download Link2SD from the Android Market, Download.

Install it to your phone, then open Link2SD, choose ext2

reboot your phone, done. Now you can move/install applications to your SD Card.

    Both partitions need to be created as “Primary”?

    after i open link2sd choose ext2…. mount script error ext2 may not be supported on your device.. try FAT32 on the second partition……..can u help me with this error?

    Where to move all sd card which we have copied before start the procedure in ext2 or on other partition.
